L'immeuble est construit en 1824 pour M. Lamothe. Il serait dû à l'architecte Urbain Vitry et il est représentatif de l'architecture néo-classique toulousaine de la première moitié du xixe siècle. Les statues sont l'œuvre du sculpteur Louis-Alexandre Romagnesi.
L'immeuble présente une façade monumentale, qui s'élève sur trois étages et un comble à surcroît.  Au 2e étage, les fenêtres sont séparées par deux niches qui abritent deux statues, allégories du commerce : Mercure casqué tenant une ancre et Cérès tenant une corne d'abondance. La façade est surmontée par un attique et un portique à colonnes doriques.

The building was built in 1824 for Mr. Lamothe. It would be due to the architect Urbain Vitry and it is representative of the Toulouse neo-classical architecture of the first half of the 19th century. The statues are the work of sculptor Louis-Alexandre Romagnesi. 
The building has a monumental facade, which rises over three floors and an attic in addition. On the 2nd floor, the windows are separated by two niches which house two statues, allegories of trade: helmeted Mercury holding an anchor and Ceres holding a cornucopia. The facade is surmounted by an attic and a portico with Doric columns.
