Perforated city, sequence of passages- Fused Grid

            City blocks in old cities had wall-like perimeters with buildings attached to one another; an inconvenient movement system, where every minute of walking counted. But buildings also included interior courts and passages to and through them. These perforations improved vastly movement  on foot. Learning from these examples, the Fused Grid incorporated similar exclusive pedestrian paths in a prototypical neighborhood circulation model.
