AI Repair of an RE

            Love it or loathe it, AI is here to stay. My guess is that it will gradually evolve and like the internet, to be either a force for good or depressingly, one for evil depending who's in control.
At the mild end of things, I put 'Gigapixel AI' to the test to have a go at restoring a few basket case photos from the past, and in most of those, it acquitted itself exceptionally well. The downsides are that it doesn't seem to cope with lettering too well, and the results come back from processing at a poor resolution. I'm told that latter is a temporary fault the business is working on. The number plate on the RE in the picture was almost illegible on the processed result and, because of the low -res, difficult to manually correct.
Other than for the latter, this frame from my first ever 35mm roll of film (one which I ended up having to open the camera in the loft as I'd torn the sprockets through being heavy handed!) which was badly affected by unwanted light ingress. The programme has all but eliminated the damage. So from me, subject to the resolution matter being addressed, it gets an eight out of ten.
Oh, the bus . . . it is PMT's ECW 'DP' bodied Bristol RELH, MVT 210K, one of a trio which proved to be exceptionally good vehicles. The location is Greengates Street, Tunstall.
