There is nothing quite like catching one of these raptors in your backyard.  This one found a perch in the neighbor’s yard and was patiently watching the bird feeder in my yard for an easy Sparrow meal.  Believe this is a Cooper's Hawk and the pose was classic.  The eyes were very intent and the killer instinct was obvious.  It is rare to see them in town, but this one certainly did add some excitement to my day.
