LA Metro Gold Line Testing-1 - a photo on Flickriver

            The Gold Line Construction Authority was conducting some daytime testing on the Azusa-Pomona, CA extension of the A-Line yesterday August 1st. Testing was to take place between Gladstone Ave in Glendora and the end of the line in Pomona. When I was in the area, they were only testing between Wheeler Ave in La Verne and Pomona. The first image is of the test set leaving Pomona headed west. In the second image the test train is headed back east crossing Wheeler Ave in La Verne. Note all of the safety personnel and police making sure there are no issues with vehicles or pedestrians getting in the way. My intent was to try and get the test set in the same photo as the BNSF Pasadena Local somewhere in the vicinity. That didn't work out for me yesterday though. The local passed by me at Wheeler Ave and just a few minutes later the westbound test set returned. Oh well, there will be plenty of opportunities later on. Construction Authority testing is supposed to run through the end of 2024 with the line turned over to Metro in January 2025. They will then do testing and crew familiarization for another 4-6 months(?) before revenue runs commence.
