Wonderstruck

            A pair of London visitors gaze admiringly at the smooth lines of RT1798 (KYY653), parked in the Strand on the occasion of the RT50 bus rally, celebrating the London Transport RT bus’ half-century on the streets of London. 

There was a wholesale wave of public emotion some 16 years later when it was the turn of the RT’s successor, the Routemaster, to bid its own farewell in regular London service. But I was of the opinion that the RT was the supreme London bus, adding grace and style wherever it ran.
