Rimbaud is nog steeds relevant nu we een 'seizoen in de hel' beleven in een beschaving die op weg is naar een nieuwe wereldorde: dit communitarisme is nu al de basis van
honderden nieuwe wereldwijde regels en voorschriften die individuele rechten elimineren, omdat dit beleid van mening is dat individuele rechten en vrijheden een reële bedreiging
vormen voor de veiligheid van de 'gemeenschap'; de messiaanse propaganda die wordt gebruikt, herinnert ons aan de donkere dagen van het nazisme of het communisme.
De geschiedenis heeft ons niets geleerd: we krijgen de herdenkingen van de Holocaust bijna dagelijks te zien, terwijl er vandaag een proliferatie is van chemische (gaskamertechnologie) en energiewapens op individuele schaal : het is een hedendaagse marteling voor degenen die ervan worden verdacht niet correct te denken. “Safe City”- technologie houdt iedereen in de gaten vanaf het moment dat je het huis verlaat tot het moment dat je terugkeert, en ze komen je huis binnen om daar microfoons en microcamera's te plaatsen onder het voorwendsel dat je in contact bent met een persoon die "verdacht" wordt van terrorisme.
Volgens Hannah Arendt is de voorbereiding op het totalitarisme geslaagd als mensen het contact met hun medemensen en de realiteit om hen heen zijn kwijtgeraakt:.
