Alcos from on high

            Back in the day before drones, you had to find elevation where you could. Back in 1975 a friend and I were chasing a Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific northbound when we spied a ranger tower at Ray, Minnesota. Figuring no one would be up there in the winter and the stairs weren't blocked, up we climbed. It made for quite a nice, but cold a view as the RS11s chugged past on their way to Fort Frances.
