Look at me, look at me. - a photo on Flickriver

Ever the show off, with loud screeching, this sulphur crested cockatoo let everyone know it was there, just before flying off. Cleveland, Redlands, South East Queensland.

Many of my flickr friends know that if there is one bird that will melt my heart, it's the sulphur crested cockatoo. Highly intelligent, wonderful loving companions, we had one live with us free to roam our home for many years until a change in lifestyle meant that some of his natural ways were starting to do too much damage to our house. They love to chew and dig but there is just so much carpet you can lose!

I have mourned his loss ever since and would have him back, if we could ensure his and our peace and comfort in the blink of an eye.

So in a way, this is my little tribute to our loving companion, friend and cockatoo Clarry. I can hear one as I type this......how timely!
