247/365 Mesa Arch

            Another day, another arch! This time it's Mesa Arch in Canyonlands, famous for the way it glows at sunrise we knew we had to get here early as there are only a handful of places where you can get 'the shot'. The alarm was set for 4am and with a 45min drive and sunrise due at 6.50am should have given us plenty of time. A couple of snoozes later we were half an hour behind schedule but should still be in plenty of time. We arrived at 5.30 to find 6 cars already in the parking lot! A short hike down to the arch where we found that some people had been there since 3am to get the prime position.
We managed to squeeze in and settled down for the main event. That will come later but this is a less traditional, more cropped in shot of the arch and the canyons beyond.
