wasp on goldenrod - a photo on Flickriver

wasp on goldenrod

            I have this flowerpot full of goldenrod now. It's been growing all summer, now over 2m tall, and now just a bit past prime full bloom. The insects---mostly wasp species--seem to love this stuff. The plant is surely Solidago leavenworthii, but someone will have to help with the wasp identification.
