Lovers' Lookout

The vista of the Notch as viewed from atop Kaaterskill Falls is quite breathtaking during peak foliage season. For decades the Laurel House stood a few hundred feet from this spot; it was a popular get away for wealthy folks who would travel up the Hudson River by steamship or railroad from New York City.
The rocks above the falls are today filled with names carved into the stone by visitors who date back over a hundred years.
Kaaterskill Falls is located within the Catskill Forest Preserve, about a hundred miles north of Manhattan and is one of New York State's treasures.
