Sunset in Sleepy Harbor - a photo on Flickriver

            The tiny fishing village of Cape Porpoise, located along the Atlantic coast in southern Maine, boasts a peaceful harbor dotted with fishing and pleasure boats. At sunset, the tranquility here is almost palpable as the sun's last warm rays combine with the gently rocking clusters of dinghies tied up to various wooden docks as lobstermen's boats rest in mid harbor after a long day's work.
Maine is filled with dozens of such towns, each one a bucolic throwback to a time of simple pleasures.
