University Avenue - named March 30th, 1956 at the new building of the Moscow State University, along which passes. Prospect formed in 1952 as a result of the new building of Moscow State University on the Lenin (now Vorobyovy) Hills and until 1956 bore the code name "passage number 296". Almost all along the avenue between lanes stretches wide boulevard.

Университетский проспект - назван 30 марта 1956 года по новому зданию Московского государственного университета, вдоль которого проходит. Проспект образован в 1952 году в результате строительства нового здания МГУ на Ленинских (ныне Воробьёвых) горах и до 1956 года носил условное название «проезд № 296». Почти на всём протяжении проспекта между полосами движения тянется широкий бульвар.
