The ruined church of St Mary, Burgh St Mary lies across a field from Tower Road, Fleggburgh. I've seen it many, many times over the years but this is the first time I've actually made the walk.

Sadly my visit was more prosaic. The rain and snow of recent weeks had left the path a quagmire. I was only spared the glutinous mud by the early shoots of the summer crop. There was no wildlife to greet me or scuttle away at my approach. Perhaps I was just too big or too noisy as usual to stand any chance of coming face to face with nature in the raw :-)
