The Jaguar Mk.II sports saloon replaced the Mark 1 in 1959. Though similar in appearance the new car was re-engineered from the waistline up, with an larger windows, increasing visability by a claimed 18 per cent. Slender front pillars allowed a wider windscreen, and the rear window almost wrapped around to the enlarged side windows, with a D shaped rear window and fully chromed side windows. The radiator grille was changed, and larger side, tail and fog lamps were repositioned. Mechanically the rear track was significantly widened and suspension geometry altered.

There were three engines offered the 2.4 litre (2483cc) with 120bhp, the 3.4 (3442cc) with 210bhp and the 3.8 (3781cc) 220bhp, all straight six Jaguar XK units.
