Sheffield Cathedral - Stained Glass - a photo on Flickriver

            "Our Lord in the Cornfield" and "The Presentation".  In memory of Edward Birks, Churchwarden 1866-96 and was erected by his Widow.  Work of William Pearce Ltd of Birmingham 1901.

The ’Nunc Dimittis Window’ from the Latin translation of the words of the old man, Simeion, who hold Jesus in his arms:

“Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen they salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles
And to be the glory of thy people Israel.”
