Spring Of The Summer Sky - a photo on Flickriver

            Blue Spring is one of the largest (6th) freshwater springs in Missouri with a flow of 90 million gallons per day.  It is also Missouri's deepest spring with a depth of 300 feet (if the Statue Of Liberty could fit in here it would be 5 feet above water!)  Blue Spring is a scenic and beautiful place to visit with all kinds of interesting and rare wildlife and plants to see along the path to the spring.  The water in the foreground looks shallow because of how clear it is and because of the polarizing filter I used, removed the glare from the surface, and is really quite deep!  The spring is located about 15 miles east of Eminence Missouri on highway 106. It was called "Spring of the Summer Sky" by the Osage Indians, hence the title. And yes, it really is that blue!
