So to all of you who read this...Happy Holidays, Merry Winter Solstice, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry Festivus, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Ramadan, Happy Saint Sylvester's Day, Happy Boxing Day, Merry Newtonmas Day, and or good tidings to all. If I missed your holiday I'm sorry, I tried to hit the biggies.

Bonfires have been being built along the mississippi river between New Orleans and Baton Rouge for a very long time. The purpose of them is to help guide papa noel along the river. The earliest photo documentation being in 1871. These are the most common shape or style of them to be built as well as the average distance they are to be spaced apart.
