Vintage 120pc Christmas Scandal by Heath Robinson 3

            Last night I sat up doing a little jigsaw to a painting by Heath Robinson, called 'Very Tempting' 158pc cut by Mrs Appleby. Looking through my records I found another example which had been sold several times. It has a different title 'Christmas Scandal' and the box carries the source of the print: 'SPECIALLY PAINTED FOR "HOLLY LEAVES" BY W. HEATH ROBINSON. The jigsaw is 120pc, cut from mahogany, 8x11in. It has a more conventional interlocking strip cut.

The details of the figures are useful in explaining the title. There is a sprig of mistletoe under the tree, spotted by the people in the foreground who have attributed the 'crime' to the lady in yellow and the clerical gent beside her.
