nie umiem być tylko drzewem
wytrwały wzrost nie jest moim jedynym
celem
ani tężenie konarów
ani owoc
ani kwiat

ciekawością nacięłam korę
oszlifowałam zastygłe żywiczne krople
żywą tkankę zamieniam codziennie
na świecące próchno słów

słowami
skarżę się z moich udręczeń
jak gdyby liryka była kluczem
którym można by otworzyć
zatrzaśnięty przed wiekami raj

I do not know how to be just a tree
the sustained growth is not my only
goal
or the bulking up of boughs
or fruit
or flower

I cut into the bark with curiosity
I polished the sap's congealed drops
everyday I turn the living tissue
to phosphorescent tinder of words

with words
I complain of my suffering
as if the lyric were a key
fit to open
the ages ago-shut paradise
