Lio Piccolo si affacciava direttamente su mare ed era porto romano quando il litorale di Cavallino Treporti ancora non esisteva. Ora è racchiuso dentro la laguna veneziana e insieme ad essa è considerato patrimonio dell’umanità.
Lio Piccolo è un paradiso faunistico dove poter ammirare i fenicotteri e altre specie di uccelli tipici della zona, tra barene e valli da pesca, seguendo le sinuose curve di stradine che sembrano quasi sospese tra le acque della laguna e che conducono fino a le Mesole, tra casolari sperduti che ospitano agriturismi caratteristici.
