I FIORI COME LI VEDO IO.... - a photo on Flickriver

            GERANIO DOMESTICO.

Il geranio è il fiore più coltivato sui balconi e sulle finestre, perché è molto decorativo e resiste bene tutto l'anno. Vi sono diverse qualità di gerani che si possono trovare in tutti i negozi di agraria e anche nei supermercati all'inizio della primavera, sono fiori economici e possono essere mantenuti a lungo con la giusta esposizione solare. Il geranio è il tipico fiore da pieno sole, che con un po' di concime esplode in fioriture meravigliose che durano tutta l'estate. I gerani sono piante perenni originarie dell'Africa australe e come fiore decorativo viene coltivato in due specie: zonale e rampicante. 
In realtà ne esistono altre specie, alcune ancora più profumate del geranio comune, che ha poco odore ma basta a tener lontane le zanzare. Anche per questo motivo molti balconi in estate si riempiono di gerani, perché il loro odore è sgradito ai fastidiosi insetti.
