Temple of Flora and Lavra - a photo on Flickriver

            Church of the Holy Martyrs Flora and Lavra in Uglich. Russia.
The Church of the Holy Martyrs Flora and Lavra (Church of the Resurrection of Christ) is an active Orthodox church in the city of Uglich, Yaroslavl Region. Monument of architecture of the XVIII century.
Earlier on this place was a wooden church at the prince's stables, called the church in the name of Saints Flora and Laurel. The modern stone church was built in the period from 1748 to 1762. The new church had two limits: in the name of the Resurrection of Christ and in the name of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos. But locals often out of habit called it as an old temple - the church of Flora and Laurus.
In 1927 the church was closed. And in the 1930s. the bell tower and domes were dismantled. In 2008, the church was restored and re-consecrated, in honor of Saints Flora and Laurus. Now the temple is subordinated to the Transfiguration Cathedral.
