Male Common Eider Duck - Somateria mollissima

            Seen hear in his first winter, it will take up to four years for the male to have his adult plumage of black and white markings on his body with lime-green markings on the head and a pink flush to the breast. The Eider duck is the UK's heaviest duck and is also the fastest flying duck being clocked at a speed off 47.2 mph in level flight. This duck can also be known by the names of Caddy's duck and St Cuthbert's duck.
