Brandy, Aksana and Rasin (?) of Mu'azzaz (IMG_7226a)

            Mu'azzaz is a Middle Eastern dance group run by my friend Aksana - she is a great dancer and a lovely lady. Gypsy Horizon is led by Carrie Moore - also an incredible dancer. The performed (way too briefly) at the Anchorage Folk Festival. The Folk Festival is a local institution - for two weekends every January local performers put on shows and workshops around town. In the dark days of winter this is really a great event. I took these photos using the ambient lighting, no flash, at ISO 1600 so the photos might be grainy and slightly blurry, but it was still a good show. I took this photo in January 2009.
