Colette of Jamila Lotus - a photo on Flickriver

            I had a chance to watch several performances of the Jamila Lotus at the Arizona Renaissance Fair near Apache Junction in February 2011. Their show is great - the only drawback is the stage area is so small and not well lit. Despite that I loved their show and hope to catch it again next year!

"Jamila Lotus, bellydance repertory, was formed by
choreographer Colette Dessingue and violinist Jennifer Mayer in 2006. The Jamila Lotus Bellydance Carnivale show features feats of
balance, strength, skill, and daring alongside dance and live music! 

Director Colette Dessingue bases original choreography on the traditional dance styles of the Middle East, Africa, and India, and original music by Jennifer Mayer, as performed by the Jamila Lotus Band of Eternal Souls, is based on traditional regional music."
