PUFFIN // FRATERCULA ARTICA (30cm) - a photo on Flickriver

            TRUE SEABIRD, is the puffin, it only comes ashore during the breeding season. It breeds in colonies and nests in burrows on grassy sloping cliffs and islands.
THE  SIGHT, sound and smell of a large Puffin colony combine so that a visit to one is a UNFORGETTABLE birdwatching experience. Seen on Skomer Island, streaching its wings, ready for the next, trip out to sea to catch sandeels. (zoom in for detail)
