            En 1774, le Prince de Condé construit le « Hameau ». Il y reçoit princes et princesses, hôtes des marques, à des fêtes, collations champêtres, dîners ou soupers. Ses invités témoignent d’une fameuse crème servie dans la salle à manger du « Hameau » et à la célèbre laiterie. 
« Jamais je n’ai mangé d’aussi bonne crème aussi appétissantes et aussi bien appréciée… » 
Ils l’appellent tout simplement « crème chantilly » et diffusent sa réputation en France et à travers l’Europe.
