The Coming Apocalypse - a photo on Flickriver

            This image stacks 8 lightning frames (lightened in Photoshop).  What would have been a very dark quiet nighttime scene was broken by brilliant lightning bolts (anvil crawlers) and deftening thunder after the passage of a rather intense storm.

This image combined was taken over a 10 minute period.  One or two good bolts occurred every minute.
