Aspen on a Soft, Snowy Afternoon - a photo on Flickriver

Near the almost ghost town of Coalmont, Colorado.

During my one and, so far, only winter trip to Colorado in 2016, I stopped on a back road to take this photo during a snow storm. If so inclined, upon enlargement the zillions of falling snowflakes can be seen, especially in the 5k version. Getting out my tripod and doing a long exposure so the flakes would be invisible was not an option. Why? One word: BRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Besides, I didn't want to tarry too long off the beaten path as getting stuck sounded ever so much worse than setting up my camera on a tripod. Also, I have nothing against snowflakes anyway . . . well, again, except for the BRRRRRRRRRR factor.

This is the thickest I've seen aspen grow. Just a few feet into the grove, they're on top of each other--more like a bamboo forest.

This is the first photo I've uploaded with a border/frame. Why? Just felt like it was a better presentation.

Don't know why the EXIF doesn't show. It was taken with my old Nikon D7100 (may it rest in peace) and Tamron 18.0-270.0 mm f/3.5-6.3 @ 70mm; ISO 250, f/8 1/1000 sec.

If anyone's interested, I originally uploaded this as a color photo--not that there was much color to be had. Then I latter reprocessed the photo in B&W--not just removing the color but performing a wealth of other subtle adjustments.
