2062 103 te Kaštel Stari op 18-5-2015

            Op 18 mei 2015 was het erg warm in het zuiden van Kroatië, maar ook erg heiig. Op deze vochtig warme dag bezocht ik het station van Kaštel Stari. De vriendelijke stationschef wist me te vertellen dat er iedere middag rond de klok van vier uur een goederentrein door het station rijdt. Om drie uur kwam hij speciaal even naar me toelopen met een grote grijns op zijn gezicht om me te melden dat de goederentrein zo rond 15:15 door het station zou komen. Ik bedankte hem vriendelijk en zocht snel een plekje op om de trein te spotten. Enkele minuten voordat de trein door het station kwam, hoorde ik de GM-diesel al in de verte brullen. Op de achtergrond werd het armsein op veilig gezet, achter me de spoorbomen met de hand dichtgedraaid en nam de stationschef zijn positie in. De stationschef gaf voor het station veilig sein door met de spiegelei te zwaaien en de 2062 103 met een bescheiden goederentrein 60340 Solin-Ogulin kon doorrijden met een zwaar stampende dieselmotor de helling op richting Labin. Zeer indrukwekkend om dit te zien en vooral ook te horen. De locomotief was na vijf minuten nog steeds te horen. Een geweldige ervaring!
