Ayia Sotira tou Soteros, Palaichori - a photo on Flickriver

            The painted church of Ayia Sotira tou Soteros in Palaichori, Cyprus.  One of the UNESCO recognised Painted Churches of the Troodos region, the "Transfiguration of the Saviour" has a 17th century narthex that is like an outer shell that contains the original early 16th century church.  The frescoes are original and cover the interior of the 16th century Late Byzantine period structure.  They are one of the most complete sets of paintings from the time.
