Greyhound Lines coaches parked at Denver Maintenance Center, from right to left, MCI D4505 #86542, MCI J4500 #6994, and MCI-Dina G4500 #85794.

The D4505 is quite new, having been built in 2013 for the 2014 model year, and is based from Los Angeles. It has uncomfortable Premier LS seats, not the greatest engine for a MCI (Cummins ISX12), and tilts a bit too much when turning. but otherwise isn't too bad. I've ridden it before: www.flickr.com/photos/95851032@N07/11793081873. D4505's are the standard out of Los Angeles, probably 95% of Los Angeles units are this type.

The J4500 is second-hand from Coach America, bought-dirt cheap after that company went bankrupt, and it's uniquely powered with a Caterpillar engine, very rare in Greyhound's fleet. Unreliable HVAC, mirrors too high, poor traction in snow, and other problems, all make the J4500 an unpopular coach with drivers, and Greyhound has never ordered any brand-new. The G4500 is from Carolina Trailways, a company bought out by Greyhound, it is seen painted plain white awaiting rebuild. The G4500 is known for fires, breakdowns, and other problems, but the rebuilt blue ones are far better. A rebuilt example: www.flickr.com/photos/95851032@N07/14603667207.
