Barque stand, Museum, Jebel Barkal, Sudan, North-east Africa

            Taharqo’s granite stand for the barque of Amun in B 500 (the Temple of Amun), with quadruple images of himself on each side, holding up the sky on which the barque symbolically rested. It has been moved from the temple to protect it.
