Hot cup of coffee

            With a hot cup of coffee in tow, I was out on a very dreary Saturday afternoon where I found NS local B38 hustling his short-ish train back toward Elkhart, seen here passing the MP 401 intermediate signals between Ligonier and Millersburg, Indiana on NS' ex-LS&MS/NYC/PC/CR Chicago Line.

NS GP40-2 3015 started out life as CR 3304, and was built by EMD for Conrail in May of 1977. The trailing engine, NS GP38-2 5550 started out life as SOU 2786 (a straight GP38), and was built by EMD for Southern in January of 1970. It was upgraded to dash 2 electrical standards at some point. 
 
These tri-light signals have since been removed.
