House Sparrow - Passer Domesticus - a photo on Flickriver

            It's been a while that I've seen a group of sparrows coming to my balcony. They come to eat seeds that I put in a bowl. I decided to try to take pictures of my new little buddies. 

When I started, I thought it would be easy to get a good picture because they come often and regularly to eat. I installed my camera in my apartment, my camera pointing towards the balcony and with the balcony door opened ( with the -15°C in Montreal, it was really cold in my apartment! ). I stayed here, motionless and silent for a long time. 

It took me 4 days to get a satisfying picture! It was not as easy as I thought it would be... They are really smart and they know when the balcony door is open, so most of the time they were on a tree, 5 meters away from my balcony, waiting for my door to be closed!

This is one of my good shots. The nice bokeh with the red/purple colors made me like this photo.
