Welcome to the Island of Eigg - a photo on Flickriver

            Almost arriving at the Island of Eigg pier and the clouds have lifted it promised to be a beautiful day. Once again it is good that this Island is now welcoming visitors and that there is a regular Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to the Island. The Island is now owned by the Islanders since 1997 under the Island of Eigg Heritage Trust. Most of the people I was travelling with were coming to stay for a couple of nights and you can see the little wooden huts on the hillside. My plan was to walk for 30 minutes and see how far I would get, come back and have a wee look in the shop etc.
