Balmoral Estates War Memorial, Balmoral, June 2016

            On the 8th May 2020, Prince Charles laid a wreath here to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. 
The memorial is located just yards from the gates to Balmoral Castle. His Majesty King George V unveiled this memorial on 3rd September 1922 and dedicated it to the memory of the men from the estates in the area who gave their lives in the Great War. The names of the men from Crathes Parish who were killed in the Second World War were added to the base of this memorial. The memorial is built from the same granite as Balmoral Castle.
