Western Skies - Explored #159 - a photo on Flickriver

            109/365 - Finally got to try my new ND filter tonight. I opted for the Hoya ND-400 ND Filter, which is a 9 stop ND. If you're not sure what an ND filter is, basically it is a really dark peice of glass that goes over your lens to make it so that less light enters the lens. This allows for some pretty remarkable effects, such as the ability to do long exposures in full daylight. This particular shot was taken at Blue Stem Open Space at Big Johnson Reservoir in Eastern Colorado Springs. This is a 30 second exposure at sunset at f/14 using my Tokina 11-16 @ 11mm. Super fun!
