Art Nouveau – 1906

            Harlösa railway station in Skåne, Sweden, opened in 1906 and became a railway junction with lines in five directions.
The beautiful yellow station house in Art Nouveau style remains and is used today as a library. The area that previously housed the railway yard is now largely built up.

Art Nouveau is a style in architecture, design, crafts, graphics and more from 1890 to around 1920.
In most countries, the style was named Art Nouveau ("new art"), after the Galerie d'Art Nouveau store in Paris, run by the German art dealer Siegfried Bing, where he exhibited several objects in the new art style. 
In Germany, the style came to be called Jugendstil ("youth style"), in the Nordic countries and the Baltics abbreviated to Jugend. 
In Italy, the style was called Stile floreale ("flower style"), which best describes how it took its inspiration from nature's irregular and organic forms, but in stylized form. 
In Britain, the style went by the name Liberty style or Modern style and in Austria-Hungary Secession ("breakout" - that is, from the traditional art of the Künstlerhaus Vienna).
