Back to the Montpellier travelogue.

The Saint-Clément aqueduct (FG ) and the Château d'eau du Peyrou (BG) are real tourist attractions and were built in the 18th century. The 14 km long aqueduct connects the Saint-Clément spring with the water tower of the Promenade du Peyrou. It is thanks to this that Montpellier was able to operate its many fountains in the city centre. The Pont du Gard inspired design of the aqueduct was handled by Henri Pitot de Launay .
