The River Ise near Burton Latimer, Northants

            The village in which I live, Isham, takes its name from the River Ise which flows through a shallow valley to the east of the village. That is on the other side of the river but on this side, out of shot to the right, is Burton Latimer, which used to be known as one of the "A6 shoe towns". This was when Northamptonshire was famous for its shoe and leather industry. These days it is better known for its vast Weetabix factory, also alongside the River Ise just a hundred yards to the north of this peaceful and pleasant pocket park.
