Firehole River, Yellowstone National Park

I am super excited about Smugmug's acquisition of Flickr. It can only mean good things for the platform and the community that a photography-centric company wants to get involved in one of the greatest photography-centric communities on the internet.

I recently went back through my old photos and finding times when I had the foresight to take RAW images instead of just bracketed JPEGs. Now that I've "grown up" a bit, I take nearly all of my photos in RAW and try to take as few bracketed shots as possible. But a few years ago, I was taking as many photos as I could in hopes something would turn out.

I knew that this was special though. This was (and still is) the most amazing 20 minutes of photography I have ever experienced. This colorful scene was in the eastern sky one of the nights I was in Yellowstone National Park.

This photo was created from a single RAW image processed in Adobe Lightroom. Adjustments include lens correction, exposure, and white balance.
