The Kettering Gas Company Limited Carved Stone Sign

            This truly wonderful carved sign is in a brick wall on Meadow Road in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
The Kettering Gas Co. Ltd. occupied the site behind this wall from 1834 until 1949. In those days the gas was mostly used for street lighting.
After Nationalisation occured in 1949 it then became part of the East Midlands Gas Board.
In 1972 that then changed to become British Gas.
Since 2016 up to the present day it has been the location for Cadent who are responsible for the pipework and infrastucture relating to the supply of gas.
A lovely old sign on a site steeped in history.
