Deco style - a photo on Flickriver

Deco style

            Off work at present looking after our new puppy so presently not much time to get out and snap new stuff so I'll be quiet on this front for a while - but I have plenty of pics taken in recent times to fall back on and post!
Here is one from 2016 and a bit of style, Art Deco is a bit 'marmite' with people, they either love or hate the bold strong geometric shapes and style from the era - I personally love it, maybe that's why we ended up buying a 1930's house! :-)
Here 520 passes the superb looking Art Deco build which was opened in 1931 as The Gaumont Palace, it changed to the Oden Cinema in 1962 which lasted until 1980 when the venue became a roller disco!
From 1987 it became a nightclub called 'The Boulevard’ until 2013 when GOD TV purchased the venue although it remains boarded up at present.
It would be lovely if the building was put to good use again one day, there aren't many Art Deco building in Plymouth - Colin Campbell house is another although that is earmarked for demolition to make way for the redevelopment of the bottom of the city centre.
