BNSF 8222 Carlton 23 Sep 07 - a photo on Flickriver

            BNSF 8222 is leading BNSF 9250 on the front of a MERC coal empty in Carlton, MN.

Hard to look at this shot 13 years later and realize it was a disappointment at the time.  No, not because the dual-window SD60M wasn't the leader but rather that in my 4 years of living in the northern plains that this was my only shot of a train around the Twin Ports area.  We made this trip to do tourist'y stuff and that didn't include railfanning.  I shot this on our way to hike in Jay Cooke State Park, which was beautiful, by the way.

But I thought I had missed my opportunity to shoot DMIR maroon as we moved away a little more than a year later.  But, redemption was at hand three and a half years later as I had the chance to go to Duluth on a business trip for a week or so, so I made sure to take advantage of that opportunity so I shot a decent amount of standard cab goodness while I was there, including one of the last two remaining DMIR units.

Having that regret from 2007 washed away and considering the subject matter here, it's hard to sneeze at a clean Warbonnet and a dual-window SD60M!
