Mixtec Rebozo Ixtayutla Oaxaca Mexico

            Handwoven cotton and silk rebozo made in the Mixtec community of Santiago Ixtayutla, Oaxaca.  The silk threads are painted with fuchsine dye and then intentionally pressed over the white areas in order to create the fugitive purple designs.
