L’heure bleue, Métis sur Mer - a photo on Flickriver

            Le moment magique, ou la lumière du soleil déjà sous la ligne d’horizon disparaît pour laisser place à la nuit. Le ciel s’éteint lentement. L’horizon enflamme, les teintes colorées se reflètent à la surface de la mer. L’exposition prolongée aplanie la surface de la mer et lui donne un ton laiteux qui contraste avec les bandes de couleur dans le ciel. A nos pieds, la rive a déjà disparue.

The blue hour
The magical moment when the light from the sun, already under the horizon, disappears to give way to the night. The sky slowly fades away. The horizon has ignited, the colorful tonalities are reflected at the surface of the sea. The long exposure flattens the surface of the sea and gives it a milky tone which contrasts with the sky. At our feet, the shore has already disappeared.
