44:52 bliss

            On this sunset walk, I decided to experiment with slow sync fill flash and planned to get some action shots of Blanca where the slow sync would produce ghostly light trails for a cool new look.

Blanca was feeling happy and giddy and running all over the place, but it became clear to me why I don't really get many action shots of her anymore.  Two reasons:  1)  I deliberately trained her to come to me whenever I crouch down or get on my knees, like a visual "come" command.  It is very useful while walking along the loud surf where she can't always hear me.  2)  Over time, I inadvertently trained her to respond to my pointing the camera at her as if it was a sort of "freeze and stay" command.  That is also quite useful for those heroic statue shots she is so good at.  

However, I wanted to shoot her running past me and whenever I would crouch down and point the camera at her, she would just freeze!  So I would animate her to run and play again by running with her and making silly sounds and being generally goofy!  We had such a fun time!!!!  I could only grab quick shots in between running.  A few times I crashed into the sand!

Of all the numerous benefits dogs bring us, very possibly one of the most wonderful is how they reward us for being silly and making fools of ourselves.  It is so liberating and therapeutic!!!  :)  And it also happens to be a path that leads to a feeling of bliss!
